BACK HOME AGAIN
After two straight weeks on the road, Indy Eleven is happy to be back home again in Indiana at Michael A. Carroll Stadium where they will seek to build a new home unbeaten streak against Jacksonville Armada FC. Indy's extensive home unbeaten run ended against Miami FC in a 2-0 loss on May 20, but the "Boys in Blue" are confident after a scrappy 2-2 draw in San Francisco last week that they can get the job done this weekend.
Last time out against Jacksonville, Indy earned their fourth straight point during a 1-1 draw in the Sunshine State. "Indiana's Team" opened the scoring in the 25th minute when forwards Eamon Zayed and Justin Braun linked up to set Braun through for his third goal of the year. However, Jacksonville would score their equalizer just five minutes later through forward Jonathan Glenn and the score would stay level despite both sides creating enough to claim three points.
WHO TO WATCH INDY ELEVEN EDITION: MF BRAD RING
Scoring a goal in Indy's 2-2 draw with the Deltas and earning a spot on the NASL Team of the Week for Spring Week 11, Indy midfielder Brad Ring will again be part of the focus for the "Boys in Blue" if they are to get their first win of the 2017 season this weekend.
Ring had his hands full with a Deltas attack that was quick to press the Indy midfield, but he came through flying with his first tally of the year. In addition, the former Portland Timbers man won half his duels and claimed five interceptions while completing 25/29 passes on the night.
His ability to stretch a game and close down space will be a major factor on Saturday.
WHO TO WATCH JACKSONVILLE ARMADA FC EDITION: MF ZACH STEINBERGER
Midfielder Zach Steinberger, who joined Indy defender Colin Falvey on the NASL Team of the Month for May, has been on fire for his side in his ten appearances this year. Racking up six goals and one assist so far, Steinberger's knack of pushing forward and creating opportunities for his side has earned Jacksonville the No.2 spot in the table heading into Spring Week 12.
Steinberger has scored a few stunning efforts this year, so Indy's defense and goalkeeper Jon Busch will have to stay on their toes should the former "Boy in Blue" loanee decide to test the backline from distance.
MATCH-UP TO MARK: DF Colin Falvey vs MF JC Banks
When the two sides meet this weekend, one match-up to mark will be defender Colin Falvey against midfielder JC Banks.
Falvey has put in a shift over the last month, winning 13/14 tackles and 29/43 duels while collecting 13 interceptions, justifying the captain's selection. During the month, Indy recorded another clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Edmonton at home before dropping three straight against Miami FC and FC Edmonton on the road.
Meanwhile, Banks continues to provide an attacking threat for the Armada with his two goals from ten games so far. With pace enough to cut in from a wide position, staying tight on the speedster will be essential.
