LAST TIME OUT:
Indy Eleven: 0-1 L vs. Atlanta on Saturday
FC Edmonton: 0-1 L vs. Ottawa on Sunday
Indy Eleven and FC Edmonton have plenty in common heading into Wednesday's meeting at Clarke Field, as both are looking to shake off disappointing 0-1 defeats to teams that currently occupy the top two rungs of the NASL's Fall Season ladded.
After Indy Eleven and FC Edmonton split their three games right down the middle in 2014, "Indiana's Team" took a 2W-1D-1L series advantage on June 13 by taking their first meeting of 2015 with a commanding 3-0 win at Carroll Stadium. Late first-half goals by Brian Brown and Dylan Mares helped stake Indy out to a 2-0 halftime lead, while Duke Lacroix’s account opener gave the “Boys in Blue” their largest margin of victory in its brief NASL history. Click below to check out the recaps for all four meetings thus far; the two teams will close out their 2015 series on Saturday, Sept. 19 in Indianapolis.
HISTORY vs. FC EDMONTON

IND 1 : 1 FCE – Sept. 13, 2014
FCE 0 : 1 IND – July 27, 2014
IND 1 : 2 FCE – May 10, 2014
HALFWAY THERE
Indy Eleven begins the second half of its 2015 slate with Wednesday night's trip to Alberta, and with just six points separating 4th place Carolina and last place Jacksonville in the NASL's Combined Season standings, you can be sure there's plenty of drama to be had over the team's last 15 games. Indy currently sits in 6th place on the Combined table with 18 points, tied with Atlanta and four points in back of both Carolina and Minnesota. A win on the road tonight would create a slight bit of breathing room heading into a weekend meeting at home against top-of-the-table Ottawa Fury FC.
NORALES OUT AGAIN
Wednesday will mark the second and final game of defender Erick Norales' "red-card-plus-one" suspension for his altercation with New York's Sebastien Guenzatti on July 25. With minutes having to be managed carefully during Indy's three-game, eight-day stretch, interim head coach Tim Regan will have some thinking to do when it comes to who to pair at center back, with Cory Miller and Greg Janicki being the obvious choices, but Judson McKinney and Daniel Keller also able to serve capably in the role.
ONE GOAL ALLOWED, ONE MORE TIME
Saturday’s 0-1 loss to Atlanta marked the 11th time in 15 games that Indy Eleven had allowed one goal in NASL play in 2015. In those 11 games, Indy Eleven has won three (all 2-1 wins), lost three (obviously all 0-1 losses) and tied five. Goalkeeper Kristian Nicht has been in goal for 10 of the matches, with Keith Cardona backstopping one one-goal allowance (May 7 @ JAX).
WHO TO WATCH, INDY ELEVEN EDITION – GOOD QUESTION!
As mentioned above it might be tough to know exactly who to watch out for, as interim head coach Tim Regan will have to monitor his team's minutes tightly, especially with league-leading Ottawa Fury FC coming to "The Mike" for an important clash over the weekend. It will be more than interesting to see who gets a rest and who is forced to step up and perform during the team's longest road trip of the season. Do outside back stalwarts Marco Franco and Kyle Hyland plow through? Will Jamaicans Brian Brown and Dane Richards feature up top again? What to do with the midfield? Inquiring minds wants to know ... but will have to wait until 60 minutes before kickoff!
WHO TO WATCH, FC EDMONTON EDITION – MF DUSTIN COREA
He's an exciting 23-year-old midfielder that's a full international from a Central American country who's expected to come in and provide a spark for his club. No, we're not talking about Indy Eleven's brand-spanking new signing Marvin Ceballos (look for the Guatemalan to occuly the paragraph above this weekend) ... we're referencing FC Edmonton's El Salvadoran savior, Dustin Corea, who made his Eddies debut with 69 minutes last Sunday in their tough 0-1 defeat to Ottawa. The Los Angeles-born Corea is coming off a Gold Cup run that saw him score El Salvador's goal in a surprising 1-1 draw with Costa Rica, proving he can step up his game against tough competition.
