The “Boys in Blue” are seeking their first ever home victory over the traveling Atlanta Silverbacks on Saturday. In four career matchups to this point, Indy Eleven is 1W-2D-1L, with the lone win coming back on September 6, 2014, in a 2-1 affair at Silverbacks Park in Atlanta. When the two sides met to open up the 2015 NASL Season back on April 4, Indy Eleven used a 2nd half stoppage time Don Smart PK conversion to earn a 1-1 draw.

CENTER BACK SHUFFLE
After not seeing a player ejected during its first 12 games of the year, last Saturday’s red card to Erick Norales marked the second straight game Indy Eleven was forced to play a man down. The recipient of the first red card, defender Cory Miller, will be ready to step back in and reclaim a spot in the middle of the backline on Norales’ behalf when Indy plays host to Atlanta on Saturday night.

Veteran Greg Janicki replaced Miller in the Indy first XI last weekend, and Saturday will mark the second time the duo will be paired together in regular season play, the first coming back on May 30 vs. Tampa Bay (2-2 draw).  Janicki and Miller also played alongside each other for the second half of Indy’s 0-0 friendly draw against Mexico’s Monarcas Morelia back on June 28.

MARES SLOWED BY KNEE SURGERY
Midfielder Dylan Mares has been hot in 2015, but he’ll be cooled off for 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a tear in his right meniscus (knee). The successful procedure was performed by Dr. Greg Estes of Community Health Sports Medicine on Friday morning.

Mares is coming off a week where he scored his team-high third goal in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw with New York, a play that won the NASL’s Play of the Week honor and landed him a spot on the league’s Team of the Week.  The goal broke a three-game drought on the scorehseet to begin the Fall Season, this after he finished the Spring on a tear with a pair of goals and assists in a three-game stretch.  Mares is also the team leader with four assists in 2015.

STEINBERGER STEPPING IN?
With Mares out, Indy Eleven's newest arrival, midfielder Zach Steinberger, might just be called upon to step in and provide immediate dividends for the "Boys in Blue."  Indy Eleven acquired the 23-year-old Butler University product on loan from Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo on Wednesday.

Steinberger made three appearances in regular season play for the Dyanmo off the bench, totalling 29 minutes in MLS play thus far.  He received more run in Houston's three Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup contests, starting their Fourth Round (June 17 vs. Austin Aztex) and Round of 16 (Colorado Rapids) games and coming off the bench in last week's Quarterfinal round defeat (1-3 L) at Sporting Kansas City.

WHO TO WATCH, INDY ELEVEN EDITION – DF's CORY MILLER & GREG JANICKI
While Atlanta's eight goals in five Fall Season games thus far is not exactly a prolific pace, it's a marked improvement from their seven tallies in 10 Spring affairs.  With Erick Norales' absence comes a drop in athleticism and leadership in the back, so it will be on Miller and Janicki to step up and provide communication and smart distribution from their central back spots.

WHO TO WATCH, SILVERBACKS EDITION – GK STWEARD CEUS ... OR C.J. COCHRAN?
Atlanta coach Gary Smith brought on a familiar face in Steward Ceus to help shore up the Silverbacks' goalkeeping situation at the start of the season. And while the ex-Colorado Rapids backstop has been steady, it's been the rookie C.J. Cochran that has put up better numbers across the board across the first half of the 2015 campaign.  When healthy the job seems to have been Ceus' - as has been the case in the last two matches - but don't be surprised to see Cochran between the posts, as he stepped in hugely in the season-opening clash with Indy, allowing just a last-minute penalty kick equalizer to Don Smart.
